It started in a small Los Angeles apartment. Ideas flowed freely and tracks appeared on a 12-inch screen. They recorded piano, then sampled AM radio. They programmed drums, then stomped their feet. Experimentation was invevitably enjoyable with this group. The five-man band first played at a small bar called “The Oyster House” in Studio City. Just months later they were playing in Hollywood and downtown LA. The momentum was building every day with every show. Now, Beatnik Jr is a musical vehicle propelled by the need to express true feelings. There is no bad sound, no wrong idea, no dead style.
